The 12th Wellbeing Week (previously known as 5-HT Week) will take place from 15 to 20 December.
About Wellbeing Week
Wellbeing Week is held during every revision period and offers a range of stress-relieving activities. It is one of the University’s major wellbeing initiatives, designed to help everyone manage stress and reduce anxiety, while also emphasising the importance of self-care during busy times.
This semester’s theme: Get ready! Learn new ways to manage anxiety
At UNNC, the pace of the semester can feel overwhelming, and before we know it, it is already drawing to a close. This is why we have chosen the theme “Get ready! Learn new ways to manage anxiety” for this Wellbeing Week.
Psychological research shows that anxiety often does not arise from the event itself, but from the uncertainty about what might happen and the fear of being unable to cope. Preparing in advance helps turn “uncertainty” into “predictability” and “l(fā)oss of control” into “control.”
This sense of control reduces the brain’s perception of “threat,” which in turn helps alleviate anxiety. Through various activities during the revision period, we aim to give everyone a clearer idea of what to expect during the final exam season and the concrete steps we can take to prepare.
