警方表示，今天早上6點30分剛過，一名男子遭受“嚴重槍傷”，警方目前正在對此展開調查。

該男子被發現時傷勢嚴重，隨后被送往醫院救治。

此前，由于警方出警處理事件，奧克蘭Mt Wellington Highway一度預計出現交通延誤。事發住宅車道入口處可見持槍警員駐守。

警方發言人表示，事件發生地點位于Mt Wellington Highway，介于Te Horeta Rd與Rowlands Ave之間。

奧克蘭市刑事調查局（CIB）高級警長Rebecca Kirk表示，公眾可以預期該地區將出現更多警力部署。

“目前道路仍然開放，但建議駕駛者改走其他路線，或預留更多通行時間。”

一名目擊者稱，她聽到了警笛聲，并看到一架警方直升機在附近盤旋。一名身穿白色防護服的專業人員也被看到在住宅外圍進行調查。
